Driving and parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.
When driving and parking near our school, please:
- ensure you park safely in school zones
- follow speed signs including observing the 40 km/h zone and 25 km/h at or near crossings during school hours
- do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school
- do not park across driveways or in 'No Stopping' areas
Local police and council officers regularly patrol the streets surrounding the school.
Bus Zone
The school has a designated bus zone from 8:00–9:30 am and 2:30–4:00 pm, which must be kept clear at all times for legal and safety reasons. No stopping signs mean that vehicles are not permitted to stop in this area under any circumstances — not even to pick up or drop off passengers.
Kiss & Ride Zone
Enfield Public School has a designated Kiss & Ride Zone, which operates under the same regulations as No Parking areas. You may stop to pick up or drop off passengers but must not remain in the zone for longer than two minutes (or five minutes if your vehicle displays a disability permit). As a courtesy to others, please move to the front of the zone to allow additional cars to use the area. When picking up or dropping off students, ensure they enter or exit on the passenger side to avoid stepping into the traffic lane.
Double parking is strictly prohibited at all times, as is parking in a way that blocks access to private driveways. Performing U-turns or three-point turns near the school is both illegal and dangerous.
Parking on school grounds
The school car park, accessed from Beaumaris Street, is reserved for school staff only and cannot be used as a drop-off or pick-up point due to limited space. A designated parking space within this area is available for vehicles displaying a disability permit, with permission to use it granted by prior arrangement with the principal. Families can find parking along Beaumaris Street and neighbouring streets.
Cycling and walking
Access to Enfield Public School is available from Beaumaris Street at the front of the school and Cobden Street at the rear.
To keep our young pedestrians safe, please always hold your child’s hand when crossing the road, especially for children under 8 years of age, and ensure all pedestrians use the designated crossings when stepping off the kerb.
The school provides a bicycle rack for students who ride to school. All students must wear an approved helmet when riding and walk their bikes or scooters once inside the school grounds.
